New Service, New Jobs
Citizens Advice Caerphilly Blaenau Gwent announce the creation of 25 new jobs in our Caerphilly Contact Centre.
CACBG has secured new funding to deliver the Citizens Advice Consumer Advice telephone service in partnership with six other local Citizens Advice offices across England and Wales.
The funding will pay for 21 full time equivalent adviser posts, three Team Leaders and a trainer. As some posts will be part -time, the number of new employees will be even higher. The new funding will last until March 2020, with possible extensions for two further years.
The new staff will join our current teams providing the national Citizens Advice Adviceline service, the Witness Service National Contact Centre and the Money Advice Service specialist debt advice service. The new posts will take the total number of staff in the contact centre to over 60.
Our Caerphilly Contact Centre, located in De Clare House on Pontygwindy Road, provides a modern, well-equipped, professional environment and delivers quality assured advice services to over 150,000 people across England and Wales. The Consumer Service will add another 225,000 people to that total.
Chief Executive Simon Ellington said
“I am delighted that we are able to provide these high quality, secure jobs, particularly as many will go to young people who can struggle to find work in the current climate. Over 15% of our contact centre staff are under 25 and well over half are under 35, it’s a bright, energetic and fun place to work that provides a first-class service.”
